Infant Toddler Specialist

Location: Child Care Resource Network

Job Description: Child Care Resource Network is seeking a full-time Infant Toddler Specialist to facilitate the activities of the WNY Infant Toddler Resource Network by providing expertise in infant and toddler development and care to the Child Care Resource and Referral agencies in the eight counties of Western New York. Techniques will include child care program observation and assessment, coaching, and modeling. S/he will conduct meetings and develop and implement research-based professional training to promote best practices for infant and toddler care.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and three years of relevant experience working directly with Infants and Toddlers; or Associates Degree and six years of experience;
  • Sound knowledge of Infant Toddler Development in particular and child care regulations in general;
  • Ability to apply knowledge in varied child care settings;
  • Excellent human relations skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including the current predominant linguistic, racial, and ethnic populations of Western New York;
  • Willingness to present to groups of varied sizes;
  • Ability to carry out assignments without direct supervision;
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends;
  • Valid NYS Driver License and vehicle with current registration and insurance for travel throughout eight WNY counties; and 
  • Multilingual in English and Spanish or other languages that would support servicing our customers a plus.

Compensation: This position starts at $14.90 and is eligible for all full-time benefits the agency offers. Some of these include:

Legally Exempt Enrollment Specialist (Bilingual Spanish & English)

Location: Child Care Resource Network 

Job Description: Child Care Resource Network is seeking a full-time Legally Exempt Enrollment Specialist to enroll, inspect and monitor child care providers who are Legally Exempt as defined by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. S/he will process detailed applications and visit the homes where children are being cared for by a relative or friend, to facilitate child care subsidy payments from the Department of Social Services directly to the caregiver. The Specialist will provide support for continuation of each case.Techniques include application support and review, accurate data entry, investigation, home visits, coaching in best practices for child care, and grant distribution. Some of the clients served only speak Spanish. This person will also provide assistance with other Spanish communication needs at CCRN.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, related field and three years of relevant office experience; or Associates Degree and six years of experience; or High School graduate and nine years of experience
  • Experience in case management or home visits a plus
  • Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions
  • Experience efficiently organizing and managing a wide range of assignments with a thorough attention to detail and follow through
  • Experience with Legally Exempt child care and/or registered family child care a plus
  • Working knowledge of the following is preferred:

-Social Service Law 390

-NY Codes, Title 18 NYCRR 415.1 and Title 18 NYCRR 415.4

-State issued Release Notes and Memorandums, Guidelines and Policy Statements

-Child Care Facility System (CCFS)

  • Proficient in the use of computers and computer software including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent human relation skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with a wide range of people including the current predominant linguistic, racial and ethnic populations of Erie County
  • Willingness to regularly travel within Erie County
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Valid NYS driver license and vehicle with current registration and insurance.
