Is Your Child Care Program Breastfeeding Friendly (BFF)?
Breastfeeding is good for moms and babies. Babies who are breastfed have a lower risk of illness, infection and obesity. They are at lower risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome too. Moms benefit from being close to their babies during feedings. Breastfeeding is good for the budget and can help keep costs down for families with young children.
Child care programs can help moms and babies successfully develop and maintain a breastfeeding routine.
Take this assessment and commit to being a "BFF"!
Not only is becoming a Breastfeeding Friendly program good for moms and babies, the Child and Adult Care Food Program of New York State recognize "BFF" child care providers as a "Breastfeeding Friendly" program on the NYS Department of Health website for three years. And meals containing breastmilk are reimbursed by CACFP!
