Incorporating MyPlate in Your Child Care Setting

With obesity on the rise in both children and adults in the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a new food guide, MyPlate, to replace the Food Guide Pyramid familiar to so many Americans. Sign up to learn how to apply strategies that increase children’s knowledge regarding MyPlate and the five food components.  This hands on class will include nutrition information, take home snack and meal ideas and tips and tricks to get children and adults to eat healthier.  

Simple Approaches to Fun and Fitness!

This training will introduce elements of CATCH Early Childhood to participants. CATCH stands for Coordinated Approach to Child Health. Participants will be taught a series of fun and unique physical fitness activities that can be implemented within their classroom setting, taken outdoors, or used in a gross motor room/gym. Along with activities, participants will leave with a better understand of classroom management during fitness activities and how to nurture a love of physical activity in young children.
