Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded program of the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The purpose of the CACFP is to help meet nutritional needs of growing children in child care settings and establish healthy eating habits for their future. Child care providers who participate in the food program receive reimbursement for meals and snacks that meet the nutritional standards set by the USDA. In addition, providers receive nutritional training, technical assistance and support.

The goal of Child Care Resource Network’s Child and Adult Care Food Program is to develop good eating habits in children that will last a lifetime, ensure children receive nutritious meals while in child care, and to train child care providers in good nutritional practices.
