Read“My role with the Catholic Health’s THRIVE program includes helping entry level nursing professionals address barriers to employment. In the past two years, 21% of our newly hired entry level nursing professionals have had a barrier that if not addressed would prevent them from being employed for more than 90 days. One of the top barriers that surfaces is the need to find affordable, quality childcare.
“As part of Governor Hochul’s Business Navigator Initiative, The Child Care Resource Network (CCRN) has been a trusted partner in helping Catholic Health associates access quality childcare. Whether finding care, affording it, or the ability to pay a family member for watching their children , CCRN provides essential, practical solutions.
Since January 2023, we’ve referred 140 associates to CCRN. Of the 1,009 associates who’ve participated in our THRIVE program over the past two years, 130 have received childcare support—benefiting nearly 13% of our newly hired entry-level nursing professionals.
The Business Navigator Toolkit offers practical tools, data, and resources to help employers like Catholic Health support working families. Thanks to the expertise and commitment of the Child Care Resource Network of WNY, these tools go beyond information—they drive real impact for our associates and their families.
Catholic Health is proud to continue this partnership as we invest in the well-being of our workforce and build a stronger, more supportive workplace for all.”
