Every few years, the Office of Children and Family Services conducts a survey of the price of child care across the state of New York. You may be called and asked to participate in this year’s Child Care Market Rate Survey. The Market Rate Survey Team will be conducting the survey from September to December, 2021. If you are called the number on your caller ID will be 844-863-9318.
The results of the Market Rate Survey help determine child care subsidy payment rates so they accurately reflect local prices. If you are called by the OCFS Market Rate Survey Team it is important that you find the time to participate so they can have an accurate sample of rates in our area.
If called you should base your answers using the rates you charge for your “private pay clients,” not the rates you charge for children whose care is paid for by the county department of social services. The survey will take about 15 minutes. To help prepare for the Market Rate Survey OCFS mailed all providers a questionnaire. Please fill out the questionnaire when you receive it but DO NOT mail it to OCFS. This completed questionnaire prepares you to answer the survey team’s questions.
