Facilities Specialist

Summary:

The Facilities Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations of the building, facilities and equipment needs of the agency including vehicles, furniture, and other equipment. The Facilities Specialist is responsible for meeting the daily needs of a busy office setting.

As A Facilities Specialist, You Will:

  • Maintain a professional, clean, stocked and neat office, including but not limited to cleaning of lobby, training rooms, employee area, kitchen, windows, bathrooms
  • Respond to all facilities maintenance emergencies
  • Oversee service, maintenance and repair with external vendors and contractors
  • Maintain upkeep, leases, registration and inspection of vehicles
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages, including bulk mailing
  • Be first point of contact for alarm company
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies, materials, and equipment; order, receive, and oversee storage of supplies materials and equipment; properly uses, cleans, and stores equipment needed to complete duties
  • Place orders for departmental supplies as needed
  • Responsible for cleaning training rooms, after each use
  • Assist with order and pick up of materials/food for Board Meetings, Staff events and other meetings and events as requested
  • Provides hands on assistance with field maintenance tasks, general repairs such as painting, patching walls, and landscaping/snow removal
  • Act as a Safety Planner and support the Emergency Planning Committee
  • Evening and Weekend hours required as needed
  • Serve as member of the staff team and attend meetings and trainings as required
  • Carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description, in accordance with the agency’s team philosophy.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and continue automobile insurance
  • Follows appropriate safety guidelines in completing duties
  • Properly uses, cleans and stores equipment needed to complete duties
  • Completes duties in a timely and responsible manner
  • Frequently move materials up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
  • Walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling and lifting will be required.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, pay attention to details and effectively handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Access and Excel, and other programs.
  • Ability to carry out assignments without direct supervision
  • Fluent in Spanish or another language that would support servicing our customers a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Education and Training Specialist (School-Age)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Education and Training, the Education and Training Specialist is responsible for providing training, technical assistance, and education programs to child care providers of all modalities with a focus on school-age.

As An Education and Training Associate, You Will:

  • Be a great teacher and an engaging speaker
  • Be passionate about learning and educating school-age providers in the community
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to school-age providers using all modalities
  • Implement professional development training which will include the School-Age Care Credential (SACC)
  • Utilize current research-based and best practice information
  • Use feedback from evaluative tools to guide decision making and planning
  • Meet the diverse needs of school-age providers in the community
  • Implement Education and Training Department programs and initiatives
  • Conduct school-age program observations and assessments
  • Track data related to Education and Training Department programs and initiatives
  • Serve as a member of the Education and Training team and attend meetings and trainings
  • Serve on a committee supporting our internal and/or external community
  • Serve as a member of the CCRN team and actively participate in required meetings, trainings and outreach events.

What You’ll Bring to this Position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Childhood Education, and/or Elementary Education or related field and three years of direct school-age program experience; or an Associate Degree and/or NYS School-Age Care Credential with six years of direct experience.
  • Current New York State Training and Technical Assistance Professional Credential (T-TAP) Credential or plan of action to achieve credential within first six months of hire
  • Minimum one year experience training adults, including planning and development of curriculum
  • Strong knowledge of child development Birth-12, with a focus on school-age
  • Ability to apply knowledge in varied school age settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent human relation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people including the current predominant linguistic, racial and ethnic populations of Erie County
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to regularly travel in Erie County
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
  • Multilingual in English and Spanish or other languages that would support servicing our customers a plus

Valid NYS Driver License and a vehicle with current registration and insurance
